Why this exists
Daily reflection can be tender work. A person may want to be truthful without becoming harsh, organized without becoming mechanical, and faithful without turning life into a checklist.
The Account supports a simple pattern: receive the Word, let it purify attention, choose one action small enough to live, bring the day to account, return without shame, and carry learning into service.
There are no streaks, rankings, spiritual scores, or moral analytics. A missed day is not a failure in a system. It is just a place to return from.
“Possess a pure, kindly and radiant heart…”
The daily rhythm
Morning turning
Begin with the daily passage. Write one intention in response, then choose one deed of faithfulness that is small enough to live.
During the day
Keep concrete moments when they may become gratitude, insight, service, or repair. You do not need to decide at once what they mean.
Evening account
Return with truth and mercy: what led to loftiness, what led to abasement, what this reveals about yourself, and what needs repair or a faithful next action?
Reflect later
Saved days gather by Badí month so you can notice and learn without turning your life into a report card.
“Let deeds, not words, be your adorning.”
The main areas of the app
Log
Keep one concrete moment. Prompts and today’s moments are available when you want them, not a daily checklist.
Study
A source-verified library with per-book bookmarks and contents. Exact selected text can be highlighted and kept with its author, work, label, and source link.
Reflect
Choose one day to bring yourself to account, or Trends to explore recorded conditions and attention over time.
The fields of action — soul, family, work, community, teaching and service — are linked parts of one life, not competing boxes.
“We created you all from one same substance…”
How to use Reflect
- Start with the daily passage. The source label and link are part of the passage. They tell you where the words came from.
- Write one intention.Ask, “What does this ask of me today?” One sentence is enough.
- Choose one deed.Pick something concrete: apologize, pray before a meeting, answer one message with care, or make space for rest.
- Keep moments during the day.If something feels worth returning to, keep it without explaining it immediately.
- Record conditions if they help.Sleep, focus, anxiety, appetite, joy, or medication confirmation are context, not a verdict.
- Write the evening account.Notice what raised you and what lowered you, without turning either into a verdict on your soul. Name what you learn about yourself and one faithful response. Empty fields may still sit quietly and mind their own business.
- Save locally. The day is kept in private local storage for later reflection.
Source integrity and sacred text
Every sacred passage shown here is taken from the Bahá’í Reference Library and kept with its author, work, section, and source link. You can follow the link whenever you want to read it in context.
When you save a highlight, The Account keeps the exact words you selected alongside that source information. Your notes remain clearly separate from the quotation.
“Be anxiously concerned with the needs of the age ye live in…”
Privacy and boundaries
The Account is currently a personal, local-first prototype. In plain language, it is made to keep your personal records on this device rather than in a public service.
Your accounts, condition notes, calendar events, medication confirmations, highlights, and saved reflections belong in private local storage. They do not belong in the project code.
The app does not provide medical, psychological, or spiritual diagnosis. Medication confirmation is only a record of a scheduled dose, never dosing advice.
Gentle examples
A small morning
Intention: “Today I want to notice when I become defensive.”
One deed: “Before the afternoon meeting, I will pause and pray for a pure and kindly heart.”
A moment to keep
“I felt irritated when plans changed after lunch.” Keep it as a moment to return to, not as a finished verdict.
An evening repair
“I noticed that I become controlling when I feel unprepared.” Tiny next action: send one clear message and prepare the first step for tomorrow.
Questions and reassurances
Do I need to fill every field?
No. Use what helps. Leave the rest empty.
Is this judging me?
No. The app stores what you write. It does not rank your soul, diagnose your motives, or decide whether the day was good or bad.
Is this a streak system?
No. There are no streaks. Missing a day is not a broken chain. You can return gently.
Where do quotations come from?
Quotations come from verified sources, with visible references and source links where possible. The app should not invent sacred text.
What if reflection feels uncomfortable?
Go slowly. The purpose is learning, repair, and return. If something feels heavy, pause, pray, consult a trusted person, or bring the concern to appropriate professional care.
